11 year old Matthew Laprade started racing at the age of 8 at the local dirt kart track in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He quickly fell in love with the sport and set out to develop his skills at kart tracks across the Southeast. He competed in the State Vega Series and in the Florida Dirt Series where he was able to secure multiple championships.

 

In August of 20220 Matthew, along with guidance from his parents, made the decision to step away from karting and learn a new discipline of racing. He spent most of 2022 and 2023 racing Bandolero cars in the Bandits division where he secured multiple wins and podium finishes at Citrus County Speedway and Crisp Motorsports Park. He also finished 3rd and the 2023 Bandolero Nationals at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

 

When he isn't racing, Matthew enjoys playing golf and surfing in his home town of New Smyrna Beach.
